Waxing Kit for Girlfriend?
pbryd
My girlfriend has been hinting on a waxing kit for her upcoming birthday.
Being a bloke I know nothing about the subject or the kits.
Can any ladies here give me a brief insight into what I should be looking out for when buying a kit?
Do any girls here use them? any stories good or bad?

Hello pbryd
I'll move your thread to the 'Health, Beauty & Fashion' board.

If you want my advice..........hand her the laptop and ask her to show you EXACTLY which one she wants........0 -

I recommend a professional one. The best thing is to buy a starter kit. this has everything needed eg wax heater, wax, spatula, remover pads etc and also a cleaner for the machine and accidental spillages.
I bought mine at Sally. It's called sally express now I think. It's a beauty and hairdressing supplier but the general public can use it.
There are 2 types, one which uses the above and another system which uses rollers. I have the old system and my sister has the roller system, she likes that one as its less messy, but it is more expensive.
I have had my machine since 1990, and it is still going strong. They frequently have a special offers on the starter kits.Grocery challenge year budget €3K Jan €190 Feb €225 Mar €313 Apr €202 May €224 June €329 July €518 Aug €231Sep €389 Oct €314 Nov €358 Dec €335 Total spent €3628

Please be sure she's hinting at it for her birthday. It would be rather insensitive if you were to buy her it and she wasn't actually hinting at it!!0

i have to say, this isn't one i'd trust my OH to buy (it's also not the most romantic gift in the world!). i'd get her to tell you exactly what she wants. it's too risky to get the wrong one (or to find out it wasn't that she was aiming at!):happyhear0

Oddly enough I had the same request/hint from Mrs Gloomendoom a couple of years ago. It got used about half a dozen times. She had to anaesthetise herself with a pack of aspirin and half a bottle of wine every time she used it.
It's now buried in the back of a cupboard somewhere.0 -
