OK guys, back after 1 hour on the phone to CCCS.
God those people are amazing. I can't praise them enough.
They told me they are going to set up a DMP and set up a direct debit with me and I will be debt free within 18 months.
I feel like a cloud has been lifted off me......
They are going to sort all the paperwork, we did it all over the phone and I can tell them all to.....well you know :rotfl:
Thanks guys for all your help, me and my family can now start to enjoy our lives after putting back everything we used to enjoy for over 2 years.....

Good!
If you later decide you were a little optimistic, or even pessimistic with your repayments on the DMP you can always get the CCCS to do you a change in circumstances too, nothing is set in stone.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Thanks guys.
They did tell me if anything changes then I can call them anytime and alter it or I could do it online with the password and user they provide to me.
As well as being able to see where the money goes and the level the debts are at.
National Debtline weren't much help to be fair, I am sure they were trying to help though.
Again can't thank you guys enough.....

Horses for courses in the debt charities, I prefer ND myself as I prefer self-management. You prefer CCCS and CCCS- management. Is all groovy as long as you get where you need to be. None of the one size fits all cr*p you get from the debt management companies (conmen the lot).I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.

I have heard of so many horror stories and even tried a paid one once myself but pulled out before I went ahead as they were asking £25 a month.
I felt like ND was reading stuff from a screen instead of CCCS who were giving me their personal views and made me comfortable and at ease.
I also felt ND was giving me more information than I actually needed. In terms of DRO and all the other stuff. They didn't really listen to the way things effected me and what my feelings were about certain areas of the budget before they were going ahead.
They kept saying, well let me get through this and then at the end you can ask any questions. Where as CCCS were very open and listened to my concerns and feelings about every step of the budget
I would definately recommend them so far but as you say, it's horses for courses0 -
Perhaps you should drop them a note if you felt talked AT rather than TO as that could well be one person being a bit off-message.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.

just a quick update on this....
All the paperwork was sent to CCCS and they confirmed they have got it and my start date for my DMP is Oct 1st....
They have sent paperwork to Provident/Greenwoods and I have sent letters that they provided me with.
However, agents have turned up to collect, not been informed of anything.
That in my past experience is normal because any sort of letters requesting reductions get ignored.
I have also spoken to the area manager and he said that if I go to CCCS I would be defaulting on my payments and I should do a reduction with them instead.
They would sit down and look at my finances and see what the best amount is.
I called CCCS and they told me that they would do this and squeeze the best figure out to suit them and not what suits you, so tell them to get stuffed.
He tried to tell me that I wouldn't get credit anywhere if I go with CCCS. I said I didn't want bloody credit, I want to get rid of what I owe....
He also said it would be marked as bad against my credit file. CCCS told me to check my credit file and see if the loans were even on there as they probably will not be......and they weren't......old loans were and ones that had closed but nothing of the current loans......
CCCS told me that they can refuse to accept the arrangement but that is all they'll be bloody getting :rotfl:
I shouldn't get anymore agents knocking from now on.....we shall see0 -
Glad you have got a date sorted out.
Stay strong.
If they come again just give them your CCCS ref no.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
