DFS Loan

I have had a loan with Hitachi Capital through DFS for 3 years. It was for the purchase of a couch on 4 years interest free credit.

Last month due to an oversight I forgot to make a transfer from my savings account into my current account.

As such this causes the £26 payment to be refused. My bank then charged me £50 in fees. Hitachi Capital have charged me £32 in fees.

Can I demand this back from both of them?

Same happened to me, Hitachi Capital won't budge!

Might have more luck with your bank though. A lesson learnt..

Are loan companies within their rights for charging such exhorbitant fees?

Does the OFT rulings affect them as well as banks?
