Agreed PAP - do what feels right for you. There is bound to be some job you can take with Christmas coming, even if it isn't perfect. I will keep my fingers crossed for you (except when I txt, drive, eat... ;)

Why the mention to me? Am I missing something?

Is it too early for PJs?
  • it was the reference to taking risks, Bookie. There is a challenge happening at the moment with Memorygirl and some others which is about taking risks to improve the future.

ans it's not too early for pjs.....

    Hello Pap :j

Another lovely day. I seem to be having more than my fair share these days, but it's great :D

I had a big surprise at lunch when I popped home. There was a letter from the solicitors about the car accident last December. The stage it was at was that I was waiting for the other party to approve me having an MRI the pain consultant wants me to have so I was waiting for that.

I've had an offer of £7k to basically 'go away'. The money apparently includes me paying for my own MRI and any subsequent treatment. If I take the offer i'll have to have £225 deducted which apparently is the pain management fee - I guess the cost of the 10 minute consultation with the consultant who said I can't do anything until you have an MRI! Apparently if I turn the offer down the other party are going to instruct that I'm seen by an orthopaedic surgeon with spine specialism.

I am going to email the solicitor over the weekend for clarification on a few things but basically I'm not accepting the offer and want to go to the MRI stage next if that's the next step. The medical people want to do an MRI and I don't feel I should be paid off and then expected to fund it myself if I decide to take it down that path. Seeing the surgeon doesn't bother me - I think they are trying it on and think that saying that will sort the men from the boys as they must have a lot of people who would take the money and run rather than have the chance the surgeon says 'nothing wrong with them'. The costs must be mounting to just offer the money like that and I think they realise if I turn it down and carry on it could be a lot higher and there is stuff wrong with my back and knee.

  • it does sound, BB, like they have realised that it could cost them more if your injuries are examined more extensively, which obviously the dr's do if they said have an mri!!! So they aqre trying their luck that you are fed up and will take a less amount.

  • I'm definitely going to go for the scan - and let them pay! If I were chancing my arm and I was in a situation where I'd just claimed 'compo' for the sake of it, I'd take it. However I do have back and knee problems and they are very aware that part of the claim is about getting the old back injury calmed back down as well as the new damage on the right hand side and the knee problems I've had since.

I don't like stuff dragging on and I guess it will be a few more hospital trips but I am going to keep going.
