thanks to everyone who gave me advice on how to make our weekend away a cheap one! i took your advice-we took our own bikes instead of hiring them, we took our own sandwich making stuff to take to the FREE swimming pool which we spent all day at(!), and we only went out for two meals all weekend. one was on saturday night, which my parents paid fr, ah bless parents, and the other was sunday dinner which cost £9.95 per adult and £8.95 for my three year old (erm, i dont think so!) so i told them hed have a spare plate, which i then continued to fill with stuffing and yorkhire pudding anyway! bargain!
also, did anyone know that they do free baby food there?! oh my word! FREE!!! so every time we went passed a cafe/restaurant etc we each went in a got a savoury and a sweet-so all weekend we didnt use any of our own baby food for my daughter, plus we brought about 15 home. save save save!
but these tins are ORGANIC boys and girls, they cost about 60-70p each. what a bargain. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
so, then wee decided to go for a drink. how expensive was that?! the prices were disgraceful! so we thought wed save some money by getting a 4pt jug. (all in the name of money saving you understand
 )
anyway guys, thought id just let you all know, thanks again for the help with money saving tips!!!

Nice one, Noggin - I reckon that you made some fine money saving efforts there...!:T
Plus, if you allow 60p x 15, saved on the baby food, you practically cancel out a Sunday lunch, which makes your eating out bill for you and DH half of what you originally thought it was!:p Definite bonus points for the handling of the "Sunday lunch plate" situation for DS, too...;)
Overall, I think you can pat yourself on the back for a very MSE holiday!:D
