£7.50 pm Virgin phone & Broadband!

in It's gone, but was it any good?
Having just had a letter from BT inviting us back to them for our Broadband and telephone calls (free weekend and evening calls) for £7.99 pm, 18 month contract we called Virgin to cancel and get a MAC code for transfer only to be offered a 12 month package to stay with them for £7.50 per month for matching package. While the BT package is only for specific mailshot customers I would imagine if you are with Virgin and call up as we did you would be offered same.. we have been with Virgin for about 3 years and changing everything is a bit of a hassle so we were v happy with this! :D

    Virgin are very good at matching deals I did it about 3 years ago matching a talk talk deal.

    Does the £7.99 inc line rental or is this on top, just wondered if this was better than Virgin deal I got line rental, broadband and free calls anytine £20?

    No sadly not line rental .. I have to use BT for that, I think because we cant get cable? We were paying £18.99 for our Virgin package so we are saving a fair bit!

    Hi, How did you go about getting this deal. I'm currently with talk talk and am looking at getting the same deal as you have with virgin for £20. Thanks.

    P.S. Is it the fibre optic broadband you get?

    Hiya,
    I got this deal about 2-3 years ago when talk talk were offering a similar deal and Virgin matched it so I wouldn't leave...it's just carried on running. Fibre optic? not sure just broadband nothing fancy...sorry:)
