I'm new here but it strikes me that 'money off' vouchers and coupons have no intrinsic value of their own - you can't eat them, drink them or do anything as useful, say, as using them like money against any item of your choice.
No, they can only be used to reduce (not eliminate) the price of one particular item - which therefore still requires a 'spend'.
Should they be posted in this forum at all?
This has probably been raised before, sorry.0 -
Why do people have to complain all the time over something as stupid as is this in the right place. We are all trying to save money so dont get upset if it is on the wrong place. Going to Blackpool soon so will print off incase near by. Thanks0

It's a while since I have posted on this thread but reading this post caused me to reply. OK, this may have been more relevant to the Discount Vouchers thread but why the rudeness? This is most likely to be helpful for a lot of people, including myself and will probably be moved to the appropriate place by the moderators.
Although, after reading your previous posts I realise that some people are just out for a fight......:A OFFICIAL Boots Tart :A and member of the PAH! club :rotfl:

I don't think LizEstelle meant it to be rude, I can see her point, I guess things get out of proportion when they're written down, as they can be interpreted in so many different ways. I guess if we were saving money we wouldn't be going out for pub meals in the firstplace, but £10 is a good deal, and it is definately in the right forum topic, so nice find MrsBex.
Everyone has there right to express, that's what a forum is for
:T Hail Kipper, and hail fluffynit for their endless hard work on the competitions board!:T0 -
Maybe this would be better if it was moved to the Coupons and Vouchers thread?0

This particular voucher would only be useful to someone who was planning to go to Brewer's Fayre anyway (but that could be lots of MSEers).
If you read some posts on the Discount Codes & Vouchers threads you will see that money-off coupons DO INDEED have intrinsic value. I use them every day 'like money against any item of my choice' (albeit any item sold by Tesco, Asda or Waitrose).
If you think you have to buy the item stated on a manufacturer's coupon (or one cut out of a newspaper or magazine) I am pleased to inform you that - at the stores mentioned above - you do not. And - before anyone suggests it - no it's not fraud to use coupons this way....at least not on the part of the consumer (and the retailers have confirmed that they will accept them 'as money').

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I don't think she was rude and she does have a point

Other debates aside, I recently went to a Brewers fayre with the family and our nectar vouchers were rejected, saying that Brewers Fayres were no long brewers fayres and we now owned by another company (mitchell's and butlers... or something like that). the staff said it was all of them, but it could have just been the one near us. but anyway it might be worth asking before ordering or calling up or somethign to check they would accept the voucher first.~Diminutive0

Does it REALLY matter? If you don't have any use for this then you don't need to send off for any.
