Child maintenance

Hi
Just looking for a wee bit of advice for my daughter. Her and her ex partner have a 4 year old daughter. They only recently split up. He has access to her every weekend. He said he was told by his Lawyer that as he has the child at the weekend and provides food and all the neccesary thing she needs over the weekend he does not have to pay my daughter any Child maintenance.
I find this hard to believe because when My husband split up from his ex years ago we used to get his children every weekend and he still had to pay Child maintenance.
Have the rules changed since the new Child maintenance started.
Thanyou for any advice given.

Shocking lies from a lawyer!
He has to pay 15% for child support, he will get a small reduction for the nights the child stays overnight with him.*SIGH*

Thanks for your reply DX2,
To be honest with you I dont even think he has been to see a lawyer. My husband said when she told us there is no way a Lawyer would ever give out this kind of information. I think he was just hoping that my daughter would just accept what he was saying is true to frighten her. He has also said he is going to try and get custody of my grandaughter.
Thank you again
