Where do i even start - no idea
omgindebt
1st post so no idea where to start but here goes..........
Bascially run up debt on credit cards whilst renovating house stupid i know but at the time i was getting alot of tax credits so could afford the repayments, then they realised i had been way overpaid (i knew but just kept quiet stupid again!)
I now get hardly any tax credits and just cant afford the payments so i have missed 1 months payments so far.
We tried to sell house to try and pay off but just not selling not a good time.
The only thing now is the DMP plan.
But what happens the debt is all in my name not partners so obvoiusly he will not be going on one but how do they CCCS work out my expenditure for example do i just spilt all our household bills in half???
I only work part time and my wages small in comparisson to partners. If i set up a dmp will they want to know partners wages etc.
I dont want to offer the £1 a month what it is suggesting can i not say that partner gives me £...so much a month towards my bills as i would like to offer them a bit more than £1
Am very confused all i know is we can only afford to live and cannot afford to pay these massive credit card bills.
Any suggestions or help would be great
Thanks
K

If CCCS has advised £1 per month token payments then that's what it is. Can your OH take on any of the debts in their name?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

You could include a payment from your OH as a monthly income in the DMP.
If the debts are soley in your name then his income isn't part of it though. An other way of doing it is split the bills so that he pays some leaving you an amount you reasonably want to free up for the DMP.
Don't transfer any debts to your OH or aim to get more debt. Just follow the CCCS advice for now. Odds on the £1 token paayment is while you actually get all the DMP details in place. I suspect you will have more available than the £1 paymenst once you decide the bills your responsible for.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. You can indeed do what you are wanting to do and include a payment from the OH on the DMP. You can set up your own self-managed DMP if you like, but CCCS are pretty good, they should be able to help you if you explain to them what it is you want to do.
They're advising you to make £1 payments because they really think it's best for you, but if you feel there is another way you want to do things there then don't be affraid to talk to them again.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.
