IT Training for unemployed

Grrrrrr....!!
I've been trying to find some IT training to help my chances of reemployment.
I keep being told about courses that are free to me because I'm on JSA - but when I enquire about them, they can't offer them because they've run out of money.
I'm finding it really difficult trying to find out what is available out there - so has anyone got any previous experience of what is available, and how i can access it?
I don't mind paying a contribution towards a course, but I can't afford to pay loads..!
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

City and Guilds ITQ Course. Level 1 / Level 2 / Level 3

Level 1 you can get on JSA for free I believe if unemployed for 6 months, if not it's about £65 I think

I did the level 1 + 2 at my college for free after being unemployed 6 months, going back in September to do the level 3 as ITQ3 is the equivalent of NVQ Level 3 in IT.

Not really anything I didn't know about in terms of computing skill, but I learned loads with Microsoft office.

Thats' the level 2, ignore the price btw. It's usually free if on JSA for more than 6 months, I'd ignore the crap about them not having money because it's a government grant. Speak with your local college to find out more

This is the level 2 course... that I did

I'm on a "Response to Redundancy" course, not sure if it's a nationwide thing but your local college will be able to advise.

Thanks Lil - The ITQ course is one that I'm on a waiting list for - having been turned away from the IT diploma
    cos they have no money...!

I don't intend to go into IT - so the technical side isn't that necessary, but I do want to improve my MS skills.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my query - looks like I will just need to wait..!

After being on the waiting list for ITQ for about 8 months ('no funding') they finally offered me a place on the Level 1 course. They wouldn't let me on the Level 2 straight away, not sure why. Instead, I've just enrolled on a Level 2 ECDL Extra course at my local college, paying only a £10 admin fee as I'm on JSA instead of £195.
