Thanks everyone for the useful replies.

Interested in the oil! My skin can be a little greasy but does that matter? Can it be used on all skin types?

I have oily combination spot prone skin and I think the massage actually helps move any blockages etc that could lead to spots.

If you were worried about excess oil you could always blot off any oil left on the surface afterwards. (I never really have any, My skin just looks glowing and plumped up afterwards.)

  • Kira congrats on your wedding! Bet with all your prep you were glowing on the day! Thanks so much for the tip on the brush that sounds really good and great exfoliation for all over! Hello boots!

Melancholly if I could thank your post 10 times I would thank you so much for getting those details for me. Lazy me hadn't looked yet!£2.50 for a manicure? I was going to pay £20!! I have just emailed I can get a facial and a manicure for less than that. Hopefully the opening times are a bit flexible. Got some hols coming up though so might book for that week!

    : )

Tonight is facial night so going to do that then have a nice bath and scrub and then epilate.

    Ah the glamour!!

Interesting about the oil think will give it a try. Do I use anything to rub in in or just my fingertips? Is there a term I can google?

    Happy Tuesday girls xxx

You should probably be able to get your hair trimmed for free or a few quid too. Lots of my friends doing hair & beauty are always looking for people to practice styling and cuts on.

You could buy a lush fresh face mask to use one a week which would cost you £5 each 4-6 weeks. Or try rhassoul(morrocan) clay which makes an excellent face mask with a little water and essential oils(basically lush's cup cape face mask which imo is their best), and also is great for washing the roots of long hair in between shampooing! It's cheap too :D Great for oily/acne prone skin.
I recommend this site non stop on here but https://www.akomaskincare.co.uk sells great priced, natural, fair trade products like african black soap(incredible!), organic oils and pure cocoa and shea butter(great intense moisturiser for the body).

  • So the woman at the college got back to me. They don't start the salon til mid October so I need to call back then. Defo going to give it a try!

Might have a look at the lush face mask although often find that shop a bit overpowering with the smell!!

Last night's face packs went well skin feels lovely and smooth. I was going to pop up links to the masks I'm using but can't find them on superdrug's website! Eek think will pop into store and get a big stock then as I really like them. A scrub then a warming mask lovely!

Tonight I've been to the gym for a wee run and now rubbed in cuticle cream going to give nails a wee tidy up and pop on the Sally Hansen strengthener. I'm an ex biter so to have them looking so long and lovely is a real triumph so determined to keep them looking good.

  • Not posted in AGES! Today was a no make up no heat on the hair day as we're on holiday this week woo hoo!! So nice giving it all a break and did a deep condition on my hair as well.

I bit 2 nails last week....so rather than bite them all just cut them all down so i would stop so they're slowly growing back again have just painted them a non offensive pink to keep them out of my mouth...it's so disgusting why do I do it?!?!

Have a spot break out for some reason :( hence the no make up today to try and give my skin a break. Have used nothing new or different so perhaps just hormones...bums!

Nearly bought a load of stuff on boots online...stopped myself though nothing has run out so no need to buy more! I'm a menace!!

Still taking vitamins for my hair and nails...not sure if they doing anything guess it will take a few months to see a difference!

    xx

If the spots are round your mouth and chin, then most likely hormones. Forehead is usually changes to the amount of oils from your scalp- can be change of shampoo or hormones, but more often change in weather.

Spots on the cheeks more likely diet related, either naughty foods, or the results of detoxing.

Best cure for spots that i found during my wedding prep, is a nice tube of Quinoderm or freederm, which you can buy over the counter at Boots or Superdrug or usually cheaper from Chemist Direct. Usually gets rid of evils within a day or two. Much better than anything else i've ever used.

For my nails, i found that massaging in some cuticle oil every day for 3 or 4 month really worked. I kept it on my desk at work, and applied it once or twice a day for a few months. Had great nails by the end! I used the boots cuticle oil. Cost about £5 (used my advantage points!)

  • The hair growing is dull isn't it? Going to wait til end Oct for a cut as have a wedding but after that will try to leave it as long as poss.

Thanks kira am using cuticle oil a sally Hanson one so think it is helping as is the strengthener. Nail varnish has chipped going to chuck the old cheap stuff. Got better ones so will stick to them.

The spots are mouth and chin area so hormones annoying...still that's life just doing face pack night to try clear them a bit. Must must drink mire water! Think that's my worst thing!
Away to take off varnish and apply strengthener then leave them be.

Thanks ladies you are keeping me on track! Xx

  • You can make your own exfoliant with brown sugar and aloe vera or peppermint oil. It's all natural and works great!
