The user who is Scottish Power rep is cunningly enough called 'scottishpower company representative'. If you do user search they should come up. You could send a PM to them and ask them if they can assist you to resolve the situation.
  • Northernlas - a nice lady at the dole did some calculations for us, she said no working tax credit for less than 30 hours a week, and if either of us work less than that we'll be worse off. At christmas I'll be fairly heavily pregnant, OH is prepared to do anything he's offered that won't leave us worse off. I've been doing extra jumpers and turning most things off for ages, and have ebayed and carbooted my way out of being taken to court, but I've really got nothing left but a tv and a microwave which I have looked at and would get me about £25 if I can get anyone to buy them. The heating is hardly ever on, and the washing machine washes at the lowest temperature.

DF I owe £314 and my usage was around £50 per month (which will hopefully go down now that electric hog friend has moved out). Thank you for finding those links for me

HappyMJ - fair point with the JSA, I wasn't thinking straight. I shall look for the appropriate information on the capital repayment on the mortgage, because they've sent me some pretty scary letters and I'm not going to start a fight without the right bits of legislation to hand. I take your point on the car issue, but to get it off road would mean paying out for an off road place to put it. I would also like it to be available so my partner can take me to hospital to give birth, and previous experience with insurers has been that I have to pay until the year's insurance is paid anyway. NPower is a previous supplier, but I'm on a scheme where if I play ball for a few more months they'll right off nearly £200 from the debt so I'm loathe to do that.

Thank you all very much for your suggestions, I will keep them all in mind, and I don't want it to look like I'm coming up with silly excuses. I'll have to find myself a kick-butt CAB person. I'll try to track down the SP rep (he must be mental).

Thank you again, all of you

    Emma,

I've just spent over 6 months on JSA and they offer a self employment credit of £50 per week to take cash in hand work. You need to declare to earnings to HMRC but on less than 16 hours there isn't any tax to pay. It might be a step into employment.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
  • I would suggest stop paying £13.79 for your internet as Plusnet do it starting at £6.49 for a 10GB allowance per month or £11.49 for 60GB.
