MissMuppet Update...

Hi All,

Not been on here for a while... I have now been bankrupt for 3 years, half way, it's gone very quickly!! :D

I think I have managed to clean my credit file up, by following the advice on here. I have also just been accepted for a Capital One Classic credit card, so hopefully I can start to build it up some more.

Had a bit of a nightmare a few weeks ago, my boyfriend of 3 months did a runner, stole money from my savings account... and took my laptop, earrings and other bits and pieces. Found out since he's been in prison more than he's been out, all for this type of crime as well as identity theft, he's a serial offender. He knew I was a bankrupt, so I am hoping that he won't be able to steal my identity and get credit in my name. Getting my credit files again this week just to check!

So all in all, financially things have been going well over the last 3 years... apart from the little blip a few weeks ago, hopefully the police will catch up with him... but it won't get me my money back!

Hope everyone is doing ok! :)

  • What a nightmare. I think that it is possible to add a password to your credit file so that if you want credit you will be asked to supply the password - yes it will hold up things but if you only reallly plan to apply for credit for large purchases -ie car etc then it shouldn't cause you too much of a headache. I'm not sure how you do that though so hopefully someone can advise you on this.
I would also check your credit file just to be on the safe side.
    Good Luck
