I won't be booking this year. have been every year for last 5 years and last year thought it was disgusting tbh. the staff were vile, rude and obnoxious and it was just all round horrid experience. when we go to london this year for our annual pre christmas trip we will be riding the santa express at selfridges. harrods lost the plot last year. poor show.:xmastree:0

How do you book for the Selfridges one, or do you just turn up?
There is thread on the low spend board about Harrods as you have to pay a £5 booking fee, with lots more info.

The selfridges grotto is fantastic. You book online, cannot remember how much, but when I went two years ago you went on a santa express train and then through a door to see father christmas. I definately recommend and also agree that Harrods is not a great grotto.
while in London you should definately visit the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park ( Tickets from ticketmaster I believe ) and also the christmas market and ice rink at the Natural History Museum. All in all a very christmassy day out :beer:I am only trying to help :rolleyes:0 -
this has aleady been posted back in June or July?, i too wont be bothering this year last year was a waste of time!0

We took out 2 boys to Harrods last year for the 1st time. I don't know how good it has been in previous years, but, we had a fantastic time! Although this may be because we got to see the REAL Father Christmas and not just one of the helpers!!0

we went to winter wonderland last year and it's lovely - very expensive for the rides and stuff, but worth doing....won't be going this year though. we are doing the whole tourist thing..london eye, tower, all that stuff. even gonna brave the open top bus and river cruise! lmao! (yes, we are slightly barmy! lol)
as for the lady who asked about selfridges..go to the website and register for news. never done it before!:xmastree:0 -
