Problem with Egg website

Does anyone else who has an Egg card have this problem.
When you go to their site and click on 'your accounts' it just closes your browser window?
It often happens once to me but then works but right now it must have happened a dozen times.
I've emailed them in the past about it but they couldn't offer a solution! It's really annoying! :wall:

Nope must just be the strange effect you have on them SS
Seriously I haven't been on there today though it might be playing up ...again!!0 -
yes, I've had the same problem in the past (couple of months ago) but not recently - found it terribly frustrating when it kept happening to me - have checked today and all still ok - had thought it was just me!
BTW - very inspired by your "something useful to do on a Sunday" winnings!! Very impressive0 -
Yes, happens to me all the time, can only access it via a Google search.Sealed pot challenge number 5130

When I try to go into 'your accounts' it alwasy says page not available, so i go back and try again and it usuallly works the 2nd time... weird but just one of those little things that you get used to!
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Hi. Have any of you guys got a Google, MSN or Yahoo toolbar installed on your web browser?
Usually it's the pop-up blocker that causes these kinds of problems. The Egg website seems to use pop-ups to log you in, but they're very small usually and don't open for long. If you disable the blocker, it should work ok.0 -
It does it to me too. If I'm in AOL it disconnects me altogether but if I'm in IE it just closes the window. Doesn't do it on my pc at work though, and it's intermittent at home. I tried adding the address to my trusted sites which worked for a bit but now it's doing it again.dudleyboy wrote:Hi. Hi SS
Have you got the latest version of internet explorer? I used to have this happen with natwest online banking but since we got this version (the one that allows you to have multiple page tabs open) I haven't had the same problem.0 -

The problem with the AOL browser (and most other ones that are supplied by an Internet Service Provider - ISP) is that they use a rotating 'dynamic' IP address (I guess the closest analogy is that it's like a cahoot webcard for accessing the internet) and so your IP address, through the AOL browser, may change several times during a single web session. I've no idea why AOL and others do this. A similar problem occurs for most people with a dial-up connection or on a home wireless network.
So, when your IP address 'rotates' and changes, those websites that use this kind of log in automatically boot you out assuming that someone else is trying to access your account from a different IP address. It's a good security measure, but a pain in the a$$ if it happens to you on a regular basis. I'm guessing your work PC is on broadband and has a static IP address, which is why it's error free.
I wouldn't recommend ISP's own web browsers to anyone as they don't often meet the standards required by others, and cause problems such as this. Your best bets are:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ (only one that works with Egg Money Manager)
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/
As these are the main 3 most web developers verify against.
Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps folk.0
