Hi
Not sure if this is the right place but someone gave me the information that all electrical items under an EU directive are guaranteed for two years, so the one year that shops offer is incorrect (I believe).
I have an item thats 14months old and is faulty, I rang empire on the freephone number 08000151000 and the very nice person said yes that is right send it back for a refund to my account.
I call that a Good Result.
I would welcome any information on this directive please.
thankyou

As I understand it, the directive applies to the manufacturer. They are responsible for manufacturing defects for 2 years.
Also, if there's a fault in the first 6 months it's their responsibility unless they can prove that it wasn't there when they sent it out, which is quite difficult.
Nice of Empire to do the manufacturer's job for them. Is that normal now?0
