Is there any possible use for the mirrored half of powder compacts, once the contents are finished? I have a dozen of the things, and can't bear to throw them away, but really don't need any more mirrors!

(I generally buy powder in the cheaper ranges like Rimmel or Boots 17, so can't get refills, sadly ).

How about the old trick of making lip gloss with old lippy and vaseline and putting it in the powder bit? That would be good for sticking in your bag as you could see what you were doing.

Oooh that sounds good. I keep meaning to start making some as I have a big tub of vasaline left over from the hayfever season.
