Best thing to make curtain rings slide?

I've tried silicone spray and beeswax, and still the wooden rings on my wooden curtain pole refuse to slide after a time or two. They used to be ok.
Has anyone got any longer lasting solutions, as they're not very accessible.
TIA

Hi Susy

Have you tried running candle wax across the rails? It worked on my kitchen drawers when they kept jamming
