Question re paid off debt that had CCJ.

Hi all,

Lets get down to business :D

Basically, I had a CCJ issued against me in Nov 2008 (reasons behind it are another issue all together). That debt has now been paid off in full.

I seem to recall reading that you can get the CRA entry annotated to show the debt has been paid, or something like that.

So, my questions are:

1) Is that correct?

2) If it is, how would you go about doing it? Contact CRA, the issueing court etc?

3) Is it worth doing or is it one of those things that you can do but it won't make much difference?

Any help or info would be appreciated.

Thanks

    1) Yes,

    2) Contact the issuing court, request a certificate of satisification. (I think thats the name). Send a copy of this certificate to each fo the 3 credit reference agencies

    3) It will mean different amounts to different agencies, but settled is always better than outstanding. So i would do it, especially with it been on your record for another 4 years

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
  • Thanks, ill look into getting that done then.
