my boyfriend is always out on his bike, he got a camelback bag/waterbottle thingy from a specialised mountain bike shop, then when reading mountain bike rider magazine (MBR) he noticed that if you subscribed to them you get one free! they seem to have different offers every month, i think last month it was a 'muck off' kit, worth about £25! im sure the subscription was only around £6 for 3 months. i hope that helps someone!0

I would not expect it to last long at those prices!
If you are going to use it regularly you are better getting better quality kit.
I'd normally agree with you over price \ quality, but I have to stand up for the lidl cycling clothings. Some of it is REALLY good stuff. I go out with a club twice a week, once on road, once off road and both groups buy up stuff in these lidl sales...
Things like gloves and socks tops etc. from lidl really work and are stupidly cheaper than their named alternatives. I commute on the bike every day and my Lidl £7 top is second only to my £40 campagnolo one. It knocks Pearl izumi, endura and orange branded ones into a cocked hat (honest!)
The stuff that does dissapoint is some of their accessories (light kits , computers) which is a little towards the cheap tat end...

Just got back from Aldi - purchased 2xwaterproof trousers, 2xgloves, 1xlights - good stuff for what I was after.
The overshoes seem to be designed for neat cycling shoes not trainers and were only waer repellant so gave them a miss.
The winter cycling jacket was only water repellant too not waterproof so gave that a miss too.
Will need to revert to carrier bags on my trainers or something to keep them dry.
Have a waterproof jacket but it is not breathable so I am like the guy from the Lynx advert (fountains from the pits!).0 -
I bought the lights last year - the rear one is a dog that keeps slipping down all the time so it points at the ground - so I would avoid.
I also bought the lock which I think is pretty good - well so far my bike aint been stolen - touch wood.0 -
At risk of pollocmc thinking of me as being a bit of a winker i think that chainreaction and wiggle are good places to start for bike bits but maybe not for the clothes which i would agree i think you have to fit beforehand, i have half a draw full of "bargains" from ebay that just did not fit.
I would be dead intersted in feedback from folk on the quality of the trousers, always been a bit of problem trying to find something that did not cling lycra style to my generously proportioned torso or vice versa give me that baggy "i am still a teenager look"0
