I am reading that although you have ill health the reason that you cant look for work because you look after your mother
So as far as I am aware you cant claim your pension till you are 55 years of age.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
ty mc, i do realise that, i was looking for some way around it0

Dont think there is any way around it, no harm in writing to the trustees even tho its a long shot? Maybe they can give u a lump sum at a reduced rate?0

Unless you are retiring on health grounds, you can't access a Pension until you are 55 when you can take £25% as a lump sum. Ill-health retirement is notoriously hard to get.
Have you posted on the Benefits board to make sure you are claiming all you are entitled to? Such as help with Council Tax, Carers' Allowance?
Also, take a trip to see a Benefits Advisor at the CAB who will be able to advise you according to your circumstances(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
