nationwide token payments

Hi wonder if anyone can help, have been sending nationwide token payments which they refused but i am still sending them anyway. I also have a joint mortgage with my ex with them which is not and has never been in arrears.

have received a letter headed final demand asking for full payment and saying they will visit my home. Do I send the same letter I would send to DCA about visits or should I do something different with it being nationwide themselves who are threatening it ? And is there likely to be any effect on the joint mortgage we have with them ???????

thanks

  • When my income took a dive due to heart surgery, I wrote to all my creditors. I had 3 separate accounts with Nationwide. They ignored my letters, so I sent them duplicates. They ignored these too. They just hassled me non-stop over the phone and by mail. I knew they'd received the letters because the token payments were being accepted.

Nationwide are not good people IMHO.
  • Hi Chinawhite

I would send them exactly that letter regards doorstep collections (i.e. you do not wish to make an appointment etc......)

Regards your mortgage you really need to check the t&c's. I know they may be able to 'offset' against products such as linked current accounts, savings etc, but mortgages I'm not so sure.

Hopefully someone will be along soon who can say for sure.
