FTB Query

Hi,

I have had a mortgage approved by Clydesdale Bank in principle for up to 90k. I currently earn 27k plus bonus.

I have agreed to buy a property for 83k, which I want to proceed with.

However, I have just handed my notice in with my current employer (3+ years) due to taking up another job offer (same industry) on 30k in the same part of the country where the house I want to buy is located.

My question is, will further checks be done with my employer at the underwriting stage? Will I pass these as I will be with my employer for another 4 weeks notice period? Should I inform the mortgage company that I have a new job?

Bit unsure of all of this as its my first time.

Thanks

  • The processing dept and/or underwriter may need to see an employers reference, at this stage your current employer cannot confirm the employment is secure statement (i.e. no impending redundencies)
  • How much deposit do you have?
  • Hi,

I am only putting down a 5% deposit due to the small amount of mortgage approx 80k. I have already handed in my previous years P60, 6 months wage slips, bank statements showing funding and current account, along with proof of ID/address. I have passed their credit checks etc to obtain an offer in principle but wondered if anything further is looked at once a full application is made.

    Thanks
