Stinky kitchen cupboard

Have just discovered a mouldy oozy leaking potato in one of my kitchen cupboards! Yuck - I am a revolting, dirty peasant!
Have emptied cupboards out, wiped down with stardrops and then scattered some bicarb in cupboard. Only... how long should I leave it for?
Will it right itself in a matter of minutes or hours or what?
I'm not really bothered except the flatmate will be home shortly and won't appreciate the contents of my cupboards all over the kitchwn floor
Cheers

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

Oh bad luck, I expect it happens to the best of us.
I've never used Bicard for cleaning, (for no reason really), but I'm guessing you could wash it off in an hour, maybe0 -
Rotten potatoes are one of the foulest smells known to mankind. TBH I'd leave the bicarb overnight. Maybe wipe up what you've already sprinkled and put some in a little bowl, or open plastic bag.Place it in the worst smelling corner of the cupboard and replace other food.0

It is disgusting to be fair... I'm not sure how I missed it everytime I opened the cupboard!!! My grandma will be spinning in her grave at my lack of house-kepping abilities!!!
Cheers for the advice... will have to pop out and get some more bicarb me thinks...
