A question. Can an annuity be purchased from the 25% tax-free cash drawn when a pension is vested?

You would get a "purchased life annuity" if you did this - it will have better tax treatment than an ordinary pension annuity.
If wanting more guaranteed income ( perhaps because your main fund is in drawdown?) , the new Scot Equit "5forlife" product may suit you. It has a guarantee, but you don't lose the capital.Trying to keep it simple...
