  • Look at the iPod Nano thread in Grabbit for a cheap one

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=198681
  • Thanks for that but in still lost even been on the apple site and confussed i know nothing about them, willing to spend around £100 so just want best one for my money ay help in anyway would be of a great help.
  • You're limited by two things - the £ you want to spend and the number of songs you want to carry around.

The cheap Nano's in the Apple refurb store are 2Gb and will hold around 500 songs. You can add and remove easily so it doesn't have to be the only 500 songs you have with you.

If you want to carry many more then you need to buy a hard disc one or a larger Nano. A 30Gb iPod will hold about 10000 or more.

The best for your money is the one that suits your pocket and needs.

You need to give more info.
  • sorry if this is thick question but what does refurb stand for as i see it mentioned a lot.
also is the £100 range colour screen ect? and what about vids/pics ect?
    cheers

Refurb means refurbishment, i.e. one that has been defective in some way or used/ 2nd hand then repaired back to the original standard, basically, not brand new.

    :D
  • Check out the main Apple store iPod store http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore and decide what you need - if you want video then you need a minimum 30Gb iPod video currently £129 in the refurb store or £189 from the main store. Refurbs are refurbs - they are fully explained in the refurb store header info.

YOU need to decide no one else can do it for you, nor can anyone else do the basic research for you..
  • top bannana the refurbs sound the best way to go then, as long as there with warrinty, thanks for help ill cheek em out

worth mentioning but you will probably get a lot more for your money by not buying an ipod but some othger branded mp3 player. i have a creative zen touch 20gb which you can buy new off ebay for about £50 and a 1gb creative muvo which i just bought off ebay for £20

With ipods you are paying premium prices for the brand name, creative has excellent sound quality and I believe better battery life than apple.

This is from the same seller I bought my muvo off, the battery bit had slight scratches but the rest of it looked brand new, couldn't complain for £20 anyway.

Also if you are wanting it for the gym or running etc you are better off going for a flash based player such as the muvo

No that depends on which models you're comparing - the new Nanos have 24 hours which is excellent. I have both Creative Zen and iPod Nano. Both have more than adequate sound quality but the Creative comes out better in tests I believe.

iPods are premium priced because they have 75% of the market = monopolistic pricing.

I've connected my Zen to both PC and Mac and while it's straightforward the degree of integration between iTunes and iPod is remarkable.

Neither Zen nor 1G Nano have the battery life of my Rio MP3 player!

I've used a creative, sony and ipod mp3 player. And i'd say if you wanted to be 'cool' then it's the i-pod. If you want value for money then its the creative but I find the Sony mp3's are excellent mid range product and they have some funky designs and easy useability. Creative's can be a bit 'faffy'.
Hope this helps. (I have a sony at the moment).
