  • Well just a quick update.

As the rate was cheaper, I moved one credit card balance onto another. As I got a nice little rebate from mr tax man, I paid one card off altogether which leaves me with one credit card and my loan.

And because my tax code is now correct I am about £30 a month better off in the wage packet

Well done for posting. Good idea to switch. To be honest things look tight and I can offer any advise where else you could cut back...except...you seem to be a nice person but dont let anyone else take you for a mug again.

Well done for posting, but totally agree with isy. You've no savings, they do, so although they won't want to, they may have to consider using some of them.
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

    Hello & welcome to MSE.

Sorry to hear of your situation!

I am pleased that you have managed to clear a credit card already and £30 a month extra will make a difference (even if you start by putting it into an emergency fund, every little helps!).

Your food bill seems high? What is the APR for your credit card? Also your mobile seems quite high!

It sounds like you are quite frugal as it is! But certainly keep a spending diary xx
  • Hi thanks for the replies.

Ive just changed my mobile contract. turned out (after a bit of investigation) that the deal I thought I was on (through phones 4 u) actually wasnt anything like the one they had sold me. My mobile is now £15 a month.

Food is high. I do have a lot of fresh food because I dont have a large freezer but a lot of the stuff I buy is own brand and is for 2 people every other week (we alternate weeks)
