Help - when reserved does not mean any stock?

I reserved on line over the weekend a Princess cross-stitch kit for making up for my daughter for Christmas, but when my dad went to pick up yesterday they first of all said the reservation number was incorrect, so I phoned up customer services who said that even if incorrect they can trace with the time and method of reference. Then the store, Mill Hill, said that they actually did not have stock - I wonder if that was why they were making excuses before.

Now I am stuck, I have emailed customer services and tried phoning them but they say they cannot check stock or transfer because it is a clearance item. I am very annoyed because it took my dad nearly 2 hours travelling across London to get there - no cost because he has a travel pass but still it meant a whole day return for him after the time in the store.

If anyone sees one in a local store or knows what I can do, please can you let me know I have tried loads of store checks on line - it was only in Extra stores - but cannot find any. I will pay postage, because dd loves the princesses and I cannot find anyone similar anywhere else either.

I have found one at the Gloucester St Oswalds Retail Park. Unfortunately, I am unable to actually drive there to pick it up for you, but I have reserved one in the hope that some kind soul on MSE will be able to do so.
