    One reason is to see that you are comfortable with different applications and combining documents/data between them. So it's a good idea to practice a little out of each one you are qualified in.

    Another reason for the test is that even if you do have a qualification in IT, it may be so long ago that they want to ensure you have kept your skills up to date. IT moves so fast that final year students completing a degree/GCSE/other IT qualification, may never have studied what the previous years students currently are. In the modern world you have to constantly update your skills or find yourself left behind. If you are ever offered training to update your skills during your working life - take it. Good luck.
