The Mods post is not an ordinary interview, (and I hope that they do put in a complaint).

Your examiner will normally go through your SOA paperwork and will want to know what loans/credit cards, etc were used for.

Should last about an hour, though if a couple go BR together the person who has the interview 2nd can often be much shorter - especially if there are joint debts.

Try not to worry (easier said than done) this was the part that filled me with dread, but in all honesty it was all completed in a very non judgemental, professional manner. Just be 100% honest, if you don`t know the answer then say so, do not start to waffle:)

Good luck and I hope it goes well for you.

  • When I had mine about a month ago, I was very worried but the lady was really nice and she said as I had put a lot of info on forms we wouldnt have to go through lots, just confirm things etc.It was about 20 mins and not too bad. Its not nice having to explain how you got in to the mess but it was not as bad as I thought it would be.Good luck it will soon be over.
  • Good luck!

Hope you have a better one than me, to be honest it couldn't be any worse :rotfl:

At one point he wouldn't even let me speak!

Probably just an isolated incident, I'm sure yours will be straight forward and by the book :)

you will be fine. i was worried about mine but it was fine, the lady was professional, just after the facts. she went through my br forms, checked a few dates, looked at the soa, asked why i'd gone br etc it lasted 45 minutes. it was a conversation not a grilling

sounds like Mods had an awful experience, but the majority of people who post on here afterwards say it was fine and nothing to worry about x
  • Thanks for your posts and your wishes of luck!!!! The only thing I did do was mess up our SOA on BR forms, was difficult as wife was really depressed and wouldn`t talk about it, I missed things out like holiday allowance ( which I didn`t know you could put down ) car maintenance, haircuts and the likes of that. Had a letter off OR saying that I could update any out of date SOA and talk about it at the point of interview so hopefully she won`t be too miffed with me!

Please try not to stress as it is not as bad as you think, we had a joint interview, I went first and had to answer the most questions by the time he got to my hubbie it was all but over. They have contacted us a couple of times since with a few questions, had to send in pay slips as proof of income etc.

If you don't mind me asking Mods which part of the UK are you in? As you seem to have had a bad one! Ours was very mater of fact but not rude:mad:
If you woke up this morning congratulations, you have another chance :j
  • I took bank statements in and wifes pay slips last week as I was only working around the corner from the ORs office so hopefully they have everything. Really want to move on and Nats been badly depressed about it all, I think that she needs some clarity of whats happening and what direction our life is going to take from here.

The only thing I can add to the others advice is that in all the time I have been here I have only seen what happened to Mods a handful of times.
