The till spits that come out are always for more than is spent, eg if you spend £20 you might get a voucher for spending over £40 etc.

As others have said it is to get people to spend more and therefore make Tesco more money.

no that does not make sense........ i shop every week with a friend... i always spend average 20 more per week than her..... but its me who has had the till reciept of the money off for months and months!!! she has never even had one?????......
  • The idea of the vouchers is to encourage you to spend more. What would be the point of offering someone £7 off a £50 spend when they already spend £100 per week.

Your friend gets the vouchers because she spends less than £50 and they want her to spend more than £50.

no. i shop every week with the same friend... i always spend bout 20pound more than her every week.... she has never had a till voucher... iv had one every single week for months and months>>... as iv said not complainin but just wondering why this is????

I think it is just random, and I'm not going to complain about it.

If you get a till spit you're not going to use could you just bulk buy your cleaning products?

I used the self service tills yesterday and I spent £40,00 and used a £10 off £30 spend,£3 off £40 spend and £9 off £30 spend. They had to be approved but the the woman just put them through. As I didnt really need any shopping I decided to stock up on nescafe coffee,so got 10 jars with 50% free in them(300g).Which I thought was good for £18.00.I find I get heaps of till spits.

You didn't mention shopping with your friend in your OP, but you did ask if it happened to anyone else when you clearly knew it didn't happen to your friend.

its a shame its only for instore spends i've got two vouchers but cant use them cos i dont drive and cant carry home that much shopping. i want to do an online shop but the codes on the discounts thread dont work and they never send me emails with codes even though i'm registered with the site. another reason why i hate tesco.

I have just bought wine to use one of those vouchers and another popped out. Looks like I will have to hurry up and drink the wine and go and get more.
