Many thanks to above two replies and especially to Korky cat for the kind comments. In the end, went along by myself but evening was great. Sat next to Bill Wyman and his family for the film, and had drinks before and after, and Bill signed my invitation and was given a great little goody bag with dvd to follow as well. So glad I went in the end and my partner#s mum is still in hospital but on the mend and hopefully out in two days time - so all's good.
