I shove this through wget (unix utility) and I get:

(there may be another way to get the control codes out of the url, I dont know)


So then I type:
http://www.dailymotion.com/get/6/320x240/flv/686266.flv?key=be9a4688c03a14c6351529ac08b70dc4126e1d6&log=1&log_blog_key=7qzwfzwmwmfeq2swo&log_referer=http://allsimps.com/index.php?season=18...

into firefox and it downloads (presumably due to a cookie being there).

Note you cannot copy my link, because the "key" part of the url is unique and you cannot exclude this or it denies you access. You need to load the swf movie first to get the key.

Can someone explain in plain english how to download them please?

Get firefox and then this extension

Restart firefox

Click on the x of the episode

Click to play it

Click on the little arrow next to the little man on the toolbar - he's spinning

Select the file looks something like 123456.flv

Rename it and save

Saves to C:/Users/Your Name/dwhelper/media req

You might then need a player that plays .flv files - maybe this

N.B I think downloading these files is illegal

If downloading them thru bittorrent is illegal then look no further in the fact that these sites are. Be careful with any such website as data collection is readily available, dont be that person who the MPAA use as a scapegoat.

Has anyone found a good free .flv player for viewing these files? I've tried a few but when viewing through a browser at full screen the quality looks fairly reasonable, however all the stand alone viewers I've tried at full screen seem to be a lot more pixelated??
