IKEA Mattress.. Any good??

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20156665

Hi
I am after a single mattress and hope someone can give me their views on the one above.
Has anyone got one??
Its for my daughters bed, sometimes used as a guest bed.
We wanted pocket sprung, and our son has a memory foam top layer, which he finds really comfortable, where as ours has reflex foam.
Any advice please :)

Ikeas mattress quality is terrible. In fact they are so bad that most independent UK bed manufacturers will supply mattresses in Ikea sizes, because there is a huge demand for them. This is because of the huge number of people who have bought Ikea beds (with a mattress), but then found the mattress so bad that rather than take them up on their 25 year guarantee then have decided to buy a mattress elswhere.

For those who don't know, Ikea mattresses are continental size, and not UK sizes.

I completely disagree with this.. my partner has had an IKEA matress for 10 years and it's as good as new, and extremely confortable. When we moved together we bought another one as he liked it so much but got a bigger bed, and this second one is great too. I wouldn't consider buying a different brand.

But you can buy the UK sizes there too.

Only on a few models, but believe me they aren't worth it anyway.

I have a double IKEA matress and it definitely isn't the most comfortable.

However, I did recently buy a day bed for my spare room and got a couple of these for it:

I've only actually slept on it once but it was very comfortable and, although cheaper, looks similar to the one you posted.

I don't know what IKEA's return policy is for matresses but if you buy from Dreams you get 40 nights to try it out and if you don't like it you can swap it for another. Only catch is if you opt for a more expensive replacement you will have to pay the difference but if you go for a cheaper option you don't get the difference refunded!

Also if I remember rightly you have to use a base supplied by Dreams at the same time. And you have to consider the fact that Dreams are very expensive.

Just because their mattresses are low quality, it doesn't mean you will have problems with it. But if you compared it to an equivalent then you may notice a big difference.
