Claiming Bank Charges from Halifax.

Bonjour,
Just a quickie. I wish to claim back the charges that Halifax have had me for (believe me, it's a lot!!).
Anyone know if they will charge me for copy statements going back 5 or so years, and if so how much?
When I was 'involved' with HSBC, we allowed one stmt free, then £2 for each subsequent one. I don't really want to shell out £120 or so at the minute, even if I could add it to my claim total.
(I'm sure that the final figure will cover any charge, but I don't want more charges due to bounced payments from 'buying' my statements do I?
)

Hello,
I am also claiming back from the Halifax... if you send them a request for statements, include a cheque or postal order for £10 and they have to supply them all for that price. Not all banks cash the cheque but Halifax did with me.
I am sending them the letter before action tomorrow.Debt free date - June 2008 :T :T :T0 -
Cheers Pal.
Will deffo do it now, if that's all it will cost!0 -
I too claimed from Halifax. I sent my claim letter in July, heard nothing from them. Last Monday 20th September, I did my MCOL for £1995.35 and I got a letter on Saturday saying that the charges would be refunded in full in 5 working days!!!
What a touch!! I was so chuffed!!!0 -

Hi all, I put in a Data Protection letter on the 8th September and posted it to my local Halifax Branch today they have cashed my £10 cheque. I'm just wondering how long the whole process normally takes and what I should do next as it would be nice to get my money back for Christmas.
Thanks.

On my first claim with Halifax (which i won) in my initial letter asking for list of charges, I asked them to take it out of said bank account. They sent me an actual list with dates within 1 week and said as a goodwill gesture there was no charge. I am currently claiming for my OH and did actually send a cheque for a tenner this time which they banked, and it took about 2 weeks for them to send it in statement form for me to trawl through, so there doesn't seem to be a "normal period" At the end of the day in the letter you are sending them it gives them 40 days.0 -

Remember you can only go to MCOL one you have sent all the relevant letters first, and after you have given them the time allocated in your letter to respond. (unless they come back in the meantime with an unsatisfactory offer.0
