best advice is for you to post an SoA but you're obviously not comfortable with that so
why dont you simply go and ask at a high street bank /building society what mortgage they will give you...its as simple as that.
  • Yes, this site is anonymous, posting a statement of affairs will really help, both because putting everything down on paper can help you see things more clearly, and also because the good people on here will be able to provide you with invaluable advice, that will help you reduce your debt and eventually realise your dream of owning your own place.

Owning a property, and all the responsibilities that come with it, will be no fun with your debts. Believe me, I can't even afford to put a shower in :rotfl:

Coming on DFW shows that you do want to do something about the debt that you have, and that you are looking towards the future, and that is sometimes the hardest part. Stick with it and this site. :D
  • Hi...

I'm fairly new here and cant give as good advice as the rest of guys here, but, i would like to share my experiance with you.

I'm 25, and two years ago (next may) i got my first mortgage, which obviously i was thrilled about!!

I had a few debts then but nothing to worry too much about. So i moved in and found i had nothing to put in the flat, so out came my credit cards and i majorly abused them - as it wasnt hard cash i didn't notice how much i spent.

Now i'm up to just over £15000 in debt on two credit cards and a mortgage, council tax and bills to pay. I live in an okay (ish) area, but my council tax is £127 a month!!!!!

To pay my mortgage and my bills is almost impossible and i'm struggling harder than i thought i would be.

Like KatrinaC mentioned before... the property ladder will still be there in a few years time and you'll be so much more better off and not struggling to pay everything off!

I know its probably not what you want to here,:o but its just my opinion - i wish you luck in whatever you choose to do & im sure you'll get some fab advise from the guys here when you post your SOA!!:D
