now i know you can buy special do-dahs (yes, its a technical term
) for keeping the legs of boots in shape, to stop them flopping over in your wardrobe and being ruined by the mountain of obigatory shoes us ladies posess. but there must be a cheaper, more old fashioned way of doing thiss? if our grannies didnt wear boots then im sure our mothers must have - does anyone know of an OS alternative to shelling out for these stupidly expensive plastic contraptions?
my initial thought was a rolled up newspaper/magazine in each boot. however, evern when secured with tape, i doubt these would hold their shape very well
any ideas?

do you tape them, to keep them in shape? and are we talking a skinny paper (ie the sun) or a big, fat copy of the times with all the supplements?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

there's the old style shoe do dah's for stretching and keeping in shape but for knee highs you can use pieces of card, ( you know when you see knee highs in shop windows, exactly the same thing) take a piece of card, cereal box type stuff, bend it round so it's slightly conical is so that it keeps the tops taught but doesn't stretch the ankles.
Hope this helps and that makes sense!xxx0 -
I just use a rolled up newspaper (normal daily size, any smaller and i would use 2!!!), no need for tape or anything!!!!0

a few skinnies used together lol0 -
Rolled up newspaper, as much as is necessary and then wrapped in plastic carrier bags and then sellotaped to keep in shape. The plastic bags stops all that horrid printers ink transferring to fingers. Works really well! It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.:kisses3:0

You could also try empty 1 or 2l (depending on boot size
) pop/water bottles if you have them. Just wash, dry and pop in the boots

i dont know if they would fit... i have hell trying to find boots that fit, because i have such skinny legs, and most boots are normally a fair bit bigger than my matchsticks :eek:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
