Have you had any experience ordering online from Argos? Was delivery as stated? What courier do they use? I pre-ordered an iPod which says delivery on 10th, so i'm going to book the day off so I don't miss the damn courier but I'll not be to pleased if it doesn't come which it probably won't.

Well I was only assuming it came by courier, maybe not, maybe Royal mail. I decided to phone Argos, it didn't sound very promising, in fact I think i'd be better cancelling my order, I got passed to 3 different people, had to give my order number 3 times and tell them what I ordered, They couldn't find my order and in the end just said "If it says 10th it will be delivered on 10th"0 -
It's about 4 years since I had anything delivered by courier from Argos but the delivery was prompt and guys were lovely - carried a double mattress and bedstead upstairs for me. They used their own delivery staff rather than a courier.
As far as I know though small stuff like an ipod is delivered by post. The other type of delivery is for large heavy items.0 -
Argos use a delivery firm called "Home" for smaller items, not sure about bigger items though. I never once had anything delivered late. If you have a delivery date, that's usually when it'll arriveNorn Iron Club Member 417:beer:0

Why order from Argos at all.
I've never known them to be at all cheap. Amazon has always been my choice.0 -
you could have done the reserve for store pick up possibly?
any small item we were supposed to recieve has always been at least a day later than they had said it would be, i have never ever had a delivery on time from them, and thats from around 4 deliveries in the past year and a half.0 -
I have very recently ordered a freezer, tumble dryer and dishwasher, all from Argos, as they were the cheapest out of anywhere that I compared them with, including many online retailers. I have to say I was genuinely impressed with the delivery service. They telephone to arrange a date and then the day before they telephone to give you a two hour window in which they will deliver. Maybe it was the sceptic in me, but I was surprised! The delivery charge also wasn't that expensive, think £6 per item (as all ordered seperately).
I have ordered from Currys in the past and they have been good, although I saw recently that there delivery charges have increased...Norn Iron Member 3830 -

Well didn't come, although they phoned this morning to tell the Mrs so thats something I suppose, they said it might come tomorrow. Might being the operative word I suspect0 -
Argos were supposed to ring me one hour before delivering my new leather settees (7am-12noon). So I had a little lie in awaiting their call. But no call came. Two delivery men wound up at my door unannounced when I was still in my jammies!NO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE
