Cannot get credit...

I am seriously puzzled, to the point where I think there must be a problem, I have applied for a 2/3 things over the last few months one was a loan to consolidate debt, the other was a credit card and more recently I need to obtain a lease car for work purposes due to a change of job recently.

All of which have been declined, I have checked experian, equifax paid for £2 reports, paid for the credit score. Every one of these has come back excellent, either 999 credit score, no missed payments for 4+ years, no CCJ's not a single bit of bad credit. I am also on the electoral roll.

I have a reasonable income of around 35k a year, a few debts of around 6k but nothing major.

Can anyone give me some advice as to whether there may be some sort of underlying problem...?

Many thanks

You'd be better off posting on the loans board as this board is for people trying to get out of debt..
