I have just had my shopping delivered for the first time in about 2 years, it took me ages yesterday with the help of the kids to see what was in the freezer ,cupboards and fridge, and work out what we needed to stock up on for the month so only have to get "fresh" topups for the next four weeks.Well once we had the list I followed it ridgedly online and only bought what was on the list and it came to £198.08 excluding delivery:eek::eek: was my first thought but then thought well with an extra £20 a week for milk veggies and fruit it bought my grand total to £282.58 which is over a hundred pounds less that what 4 weeks of shopping have been costing by going into store. All pretty much healthy and practically all homemade meals.I was so proud of us for this price by simply weighing up what we really need to buy including a few goodies each week.Oh yes there are 6 of us ,4 who have quite large appetites and two who have slightly fussy smaller appetites.

That's really good Uolypool. I always do a monthly delivery and it helps me stay on track too! The only part I don't like is playing tetris in my freezer and cupboards so all of the things fit!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790

I know that feeling.I have a huge walk in cupboard in my kitchen that has been kitted out with shelves and a huge chest freezer and larder fridge,.Its the putting everything away that I can't stand doing, need a pair of steps to reach the top shelf if older kids are out:rotfl:.Have printed a fridge ,freezer and pantry list with everything that is in them and will tick off as stuff are used .Only thing I won't need to buy for definate for next few months at least is bread flour,Son makes bread every day and has a habit of going into lidls and buying it each time he passes, over the holidays we have somehow accumilated 48 bags of the stuff:eek::eek:That's really good Uolypool. We had our first monthly shop delivered by tesco last week and I think were going to be under budget. Used to do weekly on line shops but think this is the way to go!
We have a bag of shopping in the bedroom as we ran out of spaceMum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -

I've been using home delivery loads through the summer, as I'm cycling to work, so can't carry a week's shopping
I like not having impulse purchases, but miss the reduced section
As this is a shopping topic, I'll move it to the Grocery Shopping Board
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
