Hello All,
I have just had my reminder to claim my old age pension, that working life went bloody quick HA!
I am a widower just coming up to retirement age.
The point of this message is that my new partner who is retired too has moved in with me this year, will this affect our pensions anyway?
both pension are state pensions except for my partners, they get an extra small private pensions which is taxed.
With thanks Smudge

If you have occupational defined benefit pensions it may. Or, if you have very low incomes it may as pension credit is based on both of your incomes.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Your state pensions won't be affected but if either of you receive widow's/widower's pensions from a deceased spouse's employment, check the terms as these sometimes cease payment if you start living with someone else.0
