We spend at least £75 a month on wine too
but it doesn't come out of the food budget, it comes out of the entertainment budget

But pleased as just went in to supermarket as i need some bread, and just left with 1 loaf of bread and nothing else- 1st time ever!! :TGrocery Challenge Feb 14 £500 / Spent £572.10!

Well done PP - hard to go in there and 'just' get what you need!
I allow for one bottle of wine a week (say £4) - don't much plan on changing that for now as our budget would go out the window...MFW #185

Hello Pinkparrott! well done!
I'm new to this forum I just wanted to say that try to do 1 small step at a time and go for the easiest task first. It will take time and practice to do it like some of the regulars.TH0 -
I've spent the last 2 months or so living on a WW2 rations menu to see if I can do it. I've just about managed it but it has been a bit bland and hard work. Two months is about all I can manage of it. I don't know how they managed it for so long but I suppose they had to. It has saved me a lot of money though.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

do you think £100 a month for me and a 6year old is doable?

We normally allow £200 per month for food, and there's me, DH, three cats and two dogs now. Every 3 months we go to Costco and end up spending about £70.00 on cleaning stuff (washing powder etc, mince etc..) and I normally spend during the month on odds and ends when out shopping about £50.00

I spend about £50 per week on food/toiletries for 2 adults and a toddler. That includes lunches for work, nappies/wipes and £5.00 bottle of plonk/beer. I shall try and cut it slightly as i seem to have a never ending stock pile of HM curry/chillie/bol/soup in the feezer. Oh well, i'll not starve )."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of."
