Barclay card/Doorstep collection

I have an appointment to speak to a credit card counsllor on thursday.
I have just received a phoneall from Barclaycard. I sent a recorded letter to them nearly 2 weeks ago with an interim offer of payment, and details of the CCCS ref number which they claim not to have received, and are threatening to send someone to the house unless cccs contact them within 30 days-which I'm sure they will do after I have spoken to them.
Also from speaking to them they say they have records of my phone calls but are denying that I have given them information I have.
They also kept asking me for email addresses and my home number-I declined!
I know I have read on these boards that I don't need to speak to them, but I felt it was better to be honest and upfront with them, but it seems they are trying to make it as difficult as possible for me. Am I being paranoid?
Sorry to sound so sorry for myself!

HI,
I had lot's of the same trouble with them myself.
Here is how I sorted it.
Ring the CCCS, get the number for barclaycard off the CCCS.
The people that ring you like most others are just after cash payments, nothing else and they seem to be inable to deal with anything else.
Once you get the right number from the CCCS and ring it they will set up everything. The CCCS send everything electronicly to barclaycard and they know if they have looked at it so claiming not to recive it is just lies because you are dealing with the wrong department and they want money off you as they are probably on commision that way.
Ringthe CCCS and ask them for the number to ring barcaycard, you will get futher on that number.
In fact this is good general advice, see what number the CCCS recomend you ring on as you seem to be more liekly to get someone who will actually do something that way.
Hope it works out for you.0 -
use this letter from the forum, amend it to suit your requirements and post recorded delivery.

Please be advised that I will only communicate with you in writing. I have noted your repeated attempts to contact me by telephone over the past few weeks/months and these have been duly logged by time and date.
Furthermore, should it be your intention to arrange a “doorstep call”, please be advised that under OFT rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make an appointment with you.
There is only an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v. Sheppard and Short Ltd [1959] 2 Q.B. per Lord Evershed M.R.).
Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and if you do so, then you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance.

i had a doorstep visit on behalf of barclaycrap.. was a bloke that looked like my old primary school headteacher.. showed me no id and i promptly told him to f off away from my property or i will call the police.. to which he said fine call the police ill wait here.. so i did.. the police turned up and he cacked a brick when they told him he can be arrested for intimidation etc.. (this was 2 years ago)
the debt is uneforcable.. as they only sent an application form.. ive ivitited them on many occasions to take me to court.. they havent in the last 3 years and are extremely unlikely to do soSealed pot challenger # 10

just play some crappy music down the line when they do ring.. i kept one on hold an hour ( i didnt think they would still be there lol) then said oh are you still there bye.. and hung up.. play them at there own game..
fire off the only deal in writing letter and mention any further calls will be harassment (get this in the letter) then if they continue to ring report them to the OFTSealed pot challenger # 10
