I bet you regret sending him away now. You should have accepted the delivery as it is clear they have put the wrong names on the orders. It was probably yours anyway.

    wooosh!!!

i went the cube247 route as i have used them before, and i got this email of them yesterday:-

    Dear xxxxx xxxx,

Thank you for your recent order.

Due to a pricing error the order has been cancelled. Any authorisations against your card have been rejected.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Regards,

    Cube247 Customer Services

which i knew i would get, the problem being i paid by credit card, and checking my credit card online statement just now i noticed the funds have been taken, i know when i purchase the item from a retailer they reserve an authorisation on my card for the amount, but as far as i am aware once they knew of this pricing error and sent me this email, they waived there right to the authorisation and should not have claimed it, the funds did not get taken out of the credit card till this morning, so as being as funds have been taken am i within my rights to claim the item i purchased, as surely now that they have taken funds, they have agreed to sell me the item at the price i initially paid for it and contract has been formed?

    TIA

EDIT: seems my question has been answered in a previous post, dont think it is right though that they can take funds without sending the goods though

  • I paid by credit card, and I can see the available balance each time I log in. They never processed the transaction, and have cancelled the reservation of funds.

For those who paid by paypal, then it would be different for you as paypal would process the transaction to your credit card or bank account, and take the funds. I've had this when paying for ebay purchases where the seller then never claims the money. In this instance, you need to make a new transaction to refund the money, but for bank account customers, there will be a withdrawal then a refund possibly a few days apart. For credit card customers, it will just be put back on the card as a refund.

I like your signature. I wish more people would do the same.
Unfortunately you're a bit late, but most people didn't get anything anyway.

yeah but i paid direct to cube247 with credit card, not through paypal, so in theory cube247 will make some money from this without even supplying goods, think of how many people probably ordered from them, if they took funds of everybody and let it sit in their account for a couple of days, talk about money for nothing:mad:

  • This would be a great marketing ploy if it was planned that way! 25000 views on this forum alone - how many of those 25000 hadn't heard of the site before? And it's not really negative publicity - more a 'genuine mistake' that people are trying to exploit!

Yesterday evening we sent you an email notifying you of the cancellation of your order. We have had complaints that the NAME in the email was incorrect. Please do not be alarmed, as it still remains the case that your payment was correctly voided.

If you paid via PAYPAL, you need to know that your funds were not CAPTURED, and therefore PAYPAL will make these funds available again to you within the next few days

    Kind Regards,

I don't think I am getting the TV then!

We got this email as well. Oh dear, the saga just continues for Lambda Tek with their 'mistakes'
