I received a WEM today (it IS Sunday right?) to say I've won a Haynes Chicken-keeping Manual from [thread=2521841]this comp[/thread].

Thanks to Grannybiker for the OP. A step closer to getting the chickens I've always wanted :p

ETA: also received a WEM to say I won £3 on Thunderball last night! Hadn't realised when I checked last night so that was a bit of a surprise too.

    Hope you get your chickens soon - We adopted 4 ex-battery girlies nearly a year ago & love 'em - and their eggs! Wish we'd done it years ago!

    would be great for you to get some of those ex battery hens who want a good home :) a couple of friends of mine have done it over the last few of months and they produce a good number of eggs :T

    We've had some ex-bats too. They are great. Excellent layers. Two of the four very friendly and sit on your legs and roost while sitting in the garden. They are thieves though, one pinched DH's Belgium bun and later the same day stuck it's head in his glass of beer and drank some!

    Red mites are endemic, so keep them under control in housing with Diatomaceou earth powder.;)
