Morning all
Right then, last year I left my mincemeat making until about two weeks before Christmas so this year organisation is the key!
I think i'll go get the fruit and stuff and make it this week. I do Delia's six pound mix.
Whats everyone else doing?

I'm making mine next weekend. Not sure if this is right or not?!
I'm using a recipe from a book I borrowed from the library. I did look at Delias, it sounds very nice.0 -
I'm doing mine this weekend coming (did my Christmas cakes this weekend just gone).
I'm going to make some regular mincemeat (Delias) and some of Nigellas Rhubarb vanilla mincemeat
.
I've bought jars and am going to give some to my SIL, in the hope that she will use some to make some mince pies for me
(her pastry is delicious) 0 -
This week it is then!
I've never thought to put it in jars, I have a huge kilner jar and I just chuck it all in that, however I could pot it up seperately and not have to cart the big jar around and keep opening it.
I'm looking forward to doing it :j0 -
I'm looking forward to it too. I started thinking about where the Christmas tree would go today too (first Christmas in our new house).
I need to keep reminding myself that it is only September

My, you're all so organised. Never thought about making my own mincemeat before but after reading this thread might just get the recipe books out tomorrow and have a look to see how easy/difficult it is. Merry Christmas! It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.:kisses3:0

It is really easy, honest. All you do is mix everything together and put in jars.Bambam wrote:My, you're all so organised.
