Going Over your Overdraft By 1 day (£1.20) - Affect credit rating?

I paid a cheque into the account and I mis-calculated when the cheque would clear.

My Account is now £1.20 over its authorised Overdraft due to a direct debit and will be for 24 hours as the cheque clears tomorrow.

Will this affect my credit rating and will the bank issue a fine? The bank is Abbey.

Many Thanks.

I'll ring the bank in the morning and see what they say.

PS - Please move to Budgeting & Current Accounts thread - Thanks.

I don't think it will affect your credit rating however your bank may issue a fine.

You should get in contact with them, explain the situation and they may waiver the fee. It has worked for me. :)

    Good luck xx
  • Well.. phoned and increased Overdraft.. all OK.

As increased on the same day as going over.. no charges incurred.
