Going Over your Overdraft By 1 day (£1.20) - Affect credit rating?

I paid a cheque into the account and I mis-calculated when the cheque would clear.

My Account is now £1.20 over its authorised Overdraft due to a direct debit and will be for 24 hours as the cheque clears tomorrow.

Will this affect my credit rating and will the bank issue a fine? The bank is Abbey.

I don't think it will affect your credit rating however your bank may issue a fine.

You should get in contact with them, explain the situation and they may waiver the fee. It has worked for me.

Well.. phoned and increased Overdraft.. all OK.

As increased on the same day as going over.. no charges incurred.
