Campaign To Scrap Ridiculous Competency Tests
Comments
-
As an in house recruiter myself, my view on this would not be to scrap ability or psychometric tests, as they can serve a very useful purpose in helping provide a well rounded overview of a candidates abilities and behaviours in line with teh role requirements.
What I would like to campaign to abolish is companies or poorly trained facilitators using them to screen people out because they haven't been bothered to complete a thorough job analysis, or have not set up a competency framework to work against, thus resulting in throwing random tests and recruitment processes at a role that may have noting to do with the actual skills and competencies you want to see being used in the role!
