Hi everyone, hope someone can help me ...
I was opening my Co-op account yesterday and whilst there my friend had asked me to pick up an application for her to open an account for her baby ...but the woman was hesitant to give me an application form as she stated i wasnt allowed to open an account for my baby as im bankrupt.
My baby is due in Oct so obviously i hadnt even thought about an account for him yet, but what do I do now she's got me in a panic? Does this mean that I'd have to get baby's dad to open it and be the name on the account (we're on/off) or just leave it until i would be allowed one for baby ...is this ever actually going to be allowed in that case?
Sorry if the above sounds stupid, not sure how else to word it.

If dad is not bankrupt then I can`t see any reason that he can`t open it, if he is BR then try grandparents?0

I opened one for my boys when I was BR with the Yorkshire Bank, they said it didn't make any difference as the account was for the children. But I do think they are in the minority.
What about your parents? they would be allowed to open one for the time being.0
