  • You're doing so well in paying it off though, judging by your signature. It'll be worth it in the end!

I know you want to shift your debt but don't over do things! You do have a life and the amount your in debt isn't HUGE even if it feels as though it is.

Take some time out and even a day off a week to have a rest and a lazy day, long bath, glass of wine and you'll feel better, fresher and less in a rut.

I know its not very DFW to say that, but you come first not the money. Don't make yourself ill over it ... it is only money at the end of the day and they can't take what you've not got.

Chin up girl and take a break!!

Well done! It takes a lot of dedication to work 7 days (I used to do it on my college days) but there is no way I would be able to do it now.
    You deserve a medal! :)

I feel for you, Annie - I worked a minimum of 12 hour shifts for 7 days a week for the first seven months of this year (with the exception of two weekends, i.e. 4 days, off...when I had visitors staying with me, so it was "entertaining" rather than "relaxing"...! and one 7-day holiday break, when I had to fight the urge to just stay in bed and catch up on sleep all week!:rotfl:) and all the money from my second job (Saturdays & Sundays) went to pay off my debt, so I do know how you feel - there were days when I got up and didn't know what day it was...I was so tired, I could barely focus on which way round to put my socks on!!:p

But...it IS worth it!:T You have paid off your debt at an amazing rate, so focus on how well you have done and how much better you feel for having done it. It is a fantastic achievement :j - and it also proves how hard you can push yourself when you have to...if someone had asked me if I could work 210+ days with only 11 days off, I would have laughed... but seeing the total of the debt go down kept me going and I feel it made me stronger...I know now that if I can do that, I can keep going and get rid of the rest of my debt with no problem...!:D

Good luck with losing that last £1145.41 - it is do-able!!!

  • Hi annie

Glad to hear your making great progress with your debt. Just be careful with your health. I was working 7 days a week doing 2 jobs finally got a weeks holiday and i've spent the whole week in bed not able to do anything and trying to get rid of the cold i've had for the last five weeks.

I go back to work in my part time job 2moro night and still dont feel 100% and back at full time job on Tuesday. Taking time off sick is not an option.

Good luck with tackling your debt but if the 7 days starts to get too much dont feel bad about having just one day off. Just remember when your not working relax and chill out

    Good luck

Good advice and IMHO I think in the long term that it is DFW to say that you come first and not the money.

What happens if you work so hard that you get seriously ill and find that you cannot work at all. Then the money situation will be even worse. I have a job where I work weekends every weekend and in January I was so exhausted I got meningitis. My immune system was shot to pieces and I just stopped. For a short while I was able to work part time to get back on my feet but in recent months the workload has piled up again. I don't even get any extra money for this mind.

Ultimately we're all striving so hard to become debt free so that we can enjoy a better quality of life. You need to look after yourself so that when your DFD comes you are still healthy and have all your close friends still there for you (I find I neglect my friends what with working and not having money to go out).

Look after yourself hun. Now that you've had your LBM your DFD will come no matter how hard you work.
